TPB, BSRC Host Welcome Back Week Events

Welcome Week 2018Both new and returning USD students can attend a host of free events now through mid-September as Welcome Week and Welcome Black Week take place on campus. Look below for location, dates and times.

Early to mid-September at the University of San Diego provides students, both new and returning, with ample opportunities to celebrate their return to campus for the fall semester.

Take, for instance, two such promotions running now through the Torero Program Board and the Black Student Resource Commons. We’re currently in the midst of both Welcome Week and Welcome Black Week at USD. Welcome Week runs now through Sept. 11 and it features a stamp-collecting card that, if filled out makes you eligible to win one of many great prizes from the Torero Program Board. Welcome Black Week is through Sept. 13.

Welcome Week, the traditional Torero Program Board-hosted, event-driven start of the new academic year began with Tuesday’s Campus barbecue. On Wednesday, the first day of classes, Associated Students and TPB hosted First Day Finesse at the Paseo de Colachis overlook. The event had a free acai bowl food truck, a space for students to assemble first day of school supplies and there were two chalk wall reflection cubes for students to set their intentions for the year or years to come. The walls were assembled by students affiliated with the USD Military and Veteran Program.
