USD Founders Gala Raises $1.3 Million

University of San Diego Founders Gala was held on November 11 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on campus. Maj. Gen. William M. Matz Jr., a USD graduate, was the Honorary Chair of the Gala which was also a Salute to Veterans. US Bank was the Presenting Sponsor and Bartell Hotels and Coca-Cola were Legacy Sponsors. The evening raised a record-setting $1.3 million to enhance the Founders Endowed Scholarship Fund in support of USD undergraduate, graduate and law students and will also create a new, endowed scholarship fund, dedicated to USD student-veterans. USD President James T. Harris III, DEd addressed the 600 people in attendance.
