Ash Wednesday Services; Lenten Journey Retreat Beginning
The University of San Diego will have four opportunities for the campus community to participate in Ash Wednesday on March 1 at Founders Chapel and The Immaculata Church.
Masses at USD for Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent, are at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. in The Immaculata and 12:15 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Founders Chapel.
The beginning of Lent is also an opportunity, through University Ministry, for the campus community to participate in the Lenten Journey: A Retreat in Daily Life, from March 1 to April 11.
According to the University Ministry website, “This retreat is meant to help participants slow down, collect, and center themselves, and explore the peace available in each and every moment. During this time of examination and renewal, participants commit to personal prayer each day and meet with a spiritual guide once a week on campus. The Lenten Retreat is available to faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students.”
To register, participants must have an official sandiego.edu email address. The cost to participate in the Lenten Journey is $10, payable in person in Hahn University Center, Room 238. For more information about this retreat, contact Mark Peters at markp@sandiego.edu.
