USD Votes: Voter Registration Information, Election Education Events
On Tuesday, November 8, change is coming — for everyone in the United States. The action to make this change is to vote. The place for this change, if not done by mail, will be at your local polling place, including one located on the University of San Diego campus.
Election Day is Nov. 8. The nation will choose the next President of the United States. Many states will elect senators and representatives, judges, mayors, governors and other key government officials. There be numerous propositions on the ballot, each one an important consideration for taxpayers everywhere to vote on and have their voice represented.
At USD, where many students are eligible to vote for the first time or are just voting in the main election, the time think about this important action is now. All members of the campus community are encouraged to register to vote. Whether you are a California resident or from another state, this is your chance to be involved, learn about issues that affect your future and to contribute to the decision-making process.
Starting Thursday, Sept. 15 and running until a post-election analysis on Nov. 16, the USD campus community can participate in many different free events to gain more knowledge about this election and have a space to discuss the issues and candidates on the ballot.
Organized by USD Political Science Professor Casey Dominguez and faculty colleagues, USD Votes has a website with resource links about voter registration information, registration deadlines and more about the upcoming election. USD Votes is a hub for on-campus election events, too.
