Qualcomm Inc., President Derek Aberle To Deliver Commencement Address At University Of San Diego School Of Law

Qualcomm executive, Derek Aberle, President of Qualcomm Inc., will deliver the Commencement address at the University of San Diego School of Law on Saturday, May 14, 9 a.m., Dean Stephen C. Ferruolo announced today.

“I am very pleased to announce that Qualcomm Incorporated President Derek Aberle, a distinguished member of the University of San Diego School of Law Class of 1996, will address the 248 members of the Class of 2016 at this year’s Commencement Ceremony,” Ferruolo said. “Aberle is a stellar example of a USD School of Law alumnus who has achieved tremendous success in law and global leadership.”

As president of Qualcomm Incorporated, Aberle is responsible for oversight of all business divisions across the organization, as well as Qualcomm Incorporated’s global market development and marketing groups. He is also responsible for formulating and driving key strategies for diversifying and growing the company in both Qualcomm’s core businesses, as well as new business opportunities. He serves as a member of Qualcomm’s executive committee, helping to drive Qualcomm’s overall global strategy.

Aberle joined Qualcomm in 2000 after representing the company as outside counsel for several years at the law firms of Pillsbury Madison and Sutro and Heller Ehrman.
