Financial Times Ranks the University of San Diego’s School of Business Administration in Top 100 Global MBA

For the first time, the MBA program in the School of Business Administration at the University of San Diego has been ranked in the top 100 programs in the world by the Financial Times. The ranking by one of the world’s preeminent business publications places the School of Business Administration’s MBA program in the top five percent of the approximately 2,000 programs worldwide.

The MBA program debuted at 33rd in the United States and 66th in the world.

“We are delighted with this significant worldwide recognition,” said David Pyke, dean of the University of San Diego School of Business Administration (SBA). “This prestigious ranking helps highlight the outstanding curriculum and faculty in our MBA program, and serves as evidence that we offer one of the best experiences for students and alumni among MBA programs around the world.”

Even more importantly, Amazon, Google, McKinsey & Co., Deloitte, BCG and Bank of America are just some of the leading firms that have hired University of San Diego MBA graduates in recent years. Graduates have also gone on to work for fast-growing firms based in San Diego including Illumina, Qualcomm and VisSat.

The Financial Times ranked the SBA’s MBA program 53rd for value, 45th for career progress and 33rd for international course experience. To meet the demands of today’s global marketplace, MBA students work closely with the SBA’s Ahlers Center for International Business to coordinate study abroad and consulting practicums, and spend an average of 15 days outside the United States during their studies.

Of the 100 ranked schools, only 50 are in the United States and seven are in California.

The Financial Times ranking, now in its 17th year, uses weighted criteria around salary, salary increments, faculty research, placement and international mobility. It also assesses programs on international and gender diversity of faculty and students. To see the full rankings, go to http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-ranking-2015.
