USD Academy for Business Success Provides Business Professionals with Tools to Profit in Down Econom

Summary

University of San Diego’s Office of Corporate and Professional Education invites businesses to attend the Academy for Business Success to improve planning, strategy, infrastructure, growth, and profitability. Each class brings theory into specific practice.

Classes can be taken within a curriculum to attain the Certificate in Business Success or can be taken on an individual, as-needed basis.  Classes are held on the University of San Diego campus and begin Wednesday, April 9th. Certain businesses may be eligible for substantial state ETP educational funding (see website for details). Go to www.sandiego.edu/success for more information. Call (619) 260- 7699.

After spending time in San Diego’s business community and listening to the needs of business owners, managers, and employees, the University of San Diego has created an innovative curriculum with an original focus: real-world, applicable knowledge and training.

Different than degree programs, our certificate curriculum courses are taught by business professionals who ‘walk their own talk.’ Classroom exercises are formulated around individually specific business scenarios rather than general case studies, and the purpose of each class is to provide information that can be put into use the next day.

Classes are designed to develop essential skills, introduce new practices, and implement strategies to strengthen management and increase profitability. Each four-week class includes lecture, case discussion, and applied workshop formats in order to give students an applicable balance of theory in practice.

Classes can be taken as-needed, or as a curriculum for certification. USD Program Director Jodi Waterhouse says, “This is the ideal program for any business that wants to invest in their success and take that success to the next level.”

Academy Highlights:

Learn from a varied curriculum including essential business disciplines of strategy, marketing, finance, operations, management, ethics, etc.

Access the latest business information, tools, and solutions from the leading industry experts and academic professors

Participate in a dynamic interactive forum to address the issues of greatest importance in the evolution of individual businesses

Network with service providers and guest speakers that help students gain access and insight to professionals who serve the local entrepreneurial business community

Please refer to www.sandiego.edu/success for more information. Classes begin on Wednesday, April 9th from 6:00-9:00PM at the University of San Diego in the Douglas F. Manchester Conference Center. Certain businesses may be eligible for substantial state ETP educational funding (see website for details).
