President Harris Named to California Campus Compact Executive Board

President James T. Harris named to the California Campus Compact Executive Board.

University of San Diego President James T. Harris III, DEd, and California State University, Dominguez Hills President Willie J. Hagan have been selected as new members of the California Campus Compact Executive Board. Their respective three-year appointments, officially announced this past week, began on July 1, 2016.

The California Campus Compact Executive Board has the responsibility of supporting and promoting the mission of California Campus Compact throughout the state, recommending programs, plans and budgets that sustain and promote the vision and mission of the organization, and exercise oversight and stewardship of the resources of California Campus Compact.

California Campus Compact is a coalition of leading colleges and universities that works to build the collective commitment and capacity of colleges, universities and communities throughout California to advance civic and community engagement for a healthy, just and democratic society. Through innovative programs and initiatives, grant funding, training and technical assistance, professional development and powerful research studies and publications, California Campus Compact each year invests in and champions more than 500,000 students, faculty members, administrators and community members involved in diverse and ground-breaking activities that support and expand civic and community engagement in California.

Harris and Hagan join the 2016-17 board which consists of Judith Maxwell Greig, President, Notre Dame de Namur University; Dianne Harrison, President, California State University, Northridge; Heather Knight, President, Pacific Union College; Dorothy Leland, Chancellor, University of California, Merced; and Devorah Lieberman, President, University of La Verne. Harris and Hagan fill the seats formerly held by Loyola Marymount University President David Burcham and California State University, Channel Islands President Richard Rush.
