Torero Teams Prep for 43rd San Diego Crew Classic

Crew Classic 1

One of the best weekends of the season for the University of San Diego men and women’s rowing teams has arrived. If it’s April and the Torero teams are competing in Mission Bay, that means it is time for the San Diego Crew Classic.

The 43rd edition of crew races, being held on April 2 and 3, bring a plethora of talented crew teams to town for competitive racing in America’s Finest City. It’s a great opportunity for USD teams to measure up against ranked programs from across the nation as well as many Southern California programs.

In addition to college races, USD normally has men and women alumni teams and there are open divisions which often include former and current Olympic standouts among the races. This year, there is a U.S. National Team exhibition slated as the last race of the day on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m.

Racing begins both Saturday and Sunday at approximately 7:20 a.m. following the flag raising and national anthem at 7:10 a.m.

Learn more about USD’s men and women’s teams, led by head coaches Brooks Dagman and Kim Cupini, respectively, as they prepare for this weekend's races:
