Jessica Bell Receives Grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

Jessica Bell, PhD, Chemistry and Biochemistry, has received $154,015 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The purpose of this research is to determine the function of SIKE and phosphorylated SIKE as part of the innate immune response to a pathogen challenge. The primary goals of this research are to first, identify basal and pathogen induced SIKE interaction networks and second, to investigate role of SIKE in actin-like cytoskeleton and cytosolic granules.
