EPIC Staff Travels to Saudi Arabia to Conduct Energy Workshop

EPIC's director Scott Anders and senior policy analyst Nilmini Silva-Send, PhD traveled to Saudi Arabia in mid-December to conduct a five-day workshop on Energy Policy for Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company.

Saudi Arabia seeks to increase energy efficiency and supplies of renewable and nuclear energy in the coming decades to reduce the amount of domestic consumption of fossil fuels. Anders and Silva-Send assembled a workshop to build capacity in the following areas: options to increase supply of non-fossil fuel energy sources, policies to reduce overall consumption, behavior change strategies, lessons learned from the pathway taken by other enegy resource-rich countries, and the role of international treaties on energy.

Anders and Silva-Send traveled to Saudi Arabia to conduct the workshop from December 14-18 for a strategic corporate planning and policy division of Saudi Aramco.
