Kelly Capen Douglas, Esq., Named General Counsel of the Year

USD General Counsel, Kelly Capen Douglas, Esq., was named General Counsel of the Year in the Nonprofit category at the San Diego Business Journal's annual General Counsel awards ceremony held on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.

The San Diego Business Journal's 2nd annual celebration of General Counsel was designed to recognize excellence in the In-House Counsel community. The ceremony assembled members of the local bar and leading In-House Counsel in a celebration of their accomplishments over the past year. The General Counsel Awards showcased legal heroes in our community who exemplify traits that all In-House Counsel strive to attain and hone — measured and trusted judgment, legal and business acumen, vision, and leadership.

Awards were presented in four categories:

1. Public Company
2. Privately-held Company
3. Nonprofit Company
4. Rising Star
