Ami Carpenter Receives U.S. Department of Justice Award

Ami Carpenter, PhD, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, along with co-investigators from Point Loma Nazarene University and San Diego State University, has received a U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice award to research the connections between gang activity and sex trafficking in the region. This two-year project “Sex Trafficking and Gangs in the San Diego/Tijuana Border Region” has been funded for $398,824 and will begin January 2013.
