Dean's Scholarship Initiative Reaches Its First-Year Goal

San Diego (July 12, 2013) - University of San Diego School of Law successfully reached its goal of raising $500,000 to support student scholarships for the Dean’s Scholarship Initiative.

The Dean’s Scholarship Initiative is a 3-year effort to raise $500,000 for each of the next three years to increase overall funding for student scholarships. USD School of Law alumni and friends donated a total of $515,496 to support the three goals of the Dean’s Scholarship Initiative, including:

  • $250,000 for Alumni Honor Scholarships to attract the highest quality students to attend USD School of Law;
  • $150,000 for Alumni Leadership Scholarships to retain top students and reward those who show potential for leadership; and
  • $100,000 for Alumni Summer Legal Work Grants to subsidize non-paying summer internships in the legal field.
