USD Students Talk Politics in D.C.

As part of Intersession 2011, University of San Diego political science professors Noelle Norton and Del Dickson brought USD students to Washington, D.C. this month to witness the swearing in of the new congress. While in D.C., they also brought USD students to hear Jim Manley, spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, speak about the successes of the 2010 Congress and the challenges ahead in 2011. USD students also had the opportunity to hear Representative Mike Pence speak on congressional reaction to the Tucson, Arizona, shooting in which Representative Gabrielle Giffords and 13 others were wounded and six people killed on January 8, 2011.
