Trans-Border Institute Awarded Grant from Hewlett Foundation

The Trans-Border Institute (TBI) at the University of San Diego has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Hewlett Foundation. The grant, which will be awarded over a two-year period, will help support the Justice in Mexico Project, bringing total support for this research initiative to over $620,000.

The Justice in Mexico Project is dedicated to the rule of law and justice reform in Mexico. TBI’s Justice in Mexico Project coordinates and disseminates research on three major components of the rule of law: order, accountability and equal access to justice. The Project focuses on the status of the rule of law at the sub-national level and on reforms in the administration of justice across Mexican states.
