A surprise visit by USD music alum, Anh V. Le, enlivened the music department office momentarily last week.  Anh who is an accomplished flautist, recently graduated last May 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music.  Along with her degree, Anh completed a minor in Math and earned a Certification in Nonprofit Management through University of San Diego’s Institute for Nonprofit Education and Research, the Professional and Continuing Education Nonprofit Management Certificate program.

Within one month of graduation, Anh was hired by the St. Joseph Worker Program, which is run by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange County.  Anh’s position is a Volunteer Coordinator at the Alexandria House which is a transitional homeless shelter.  Anh is responsible for recruiting volunteers, training, general office duties and is in charge of coordinating donation drives  “Music Time” activities for children age 5 and under.  It was Anh’s dream to work with a nonprofit organization that brings the gift of musical experience to those who may not otherwise be able to afford music lessons or to attend concerts.  Anh believes “Music” gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind and life to everything.

The Music Department wishes Anh the very best as she proceeds into the new chapter of her life after USD.  As Anh would say, “Just go for it!”
