begin quoteWe are pleased to announce Dr. Andrew Nosal as a new full-time faculty member in the department of Environmental & Ocean Sciences.

We are pleased to announce Dr. Andrew Nosal as a new full-time faculty member in the department of Environmental & Ocean Sciences. Dr. Nosal got his BS in Biology from Univ. of Virginia and his Ph.D. in Marine Biology from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where he will continue as a Visiting Assistant Researcher in the summers studying local sharks.   He brings extensive teaching experience from University of Saint Katherine, San Diego community colleges and from USD where he has taught 11 courses in the Biology and EOSC departments, and is known as an excellent teacher.  For EOSC, in addition to teaching lower-division life science and oceanography courses, he will develop a new upper-division course in Behavioral Ecology.   He has mentored many high school and undergraduate students including eight USD undergraduates.  He is broadly trained as a marine ecologist, specializing in the movement ecology of animals, particularly sharks.   He is also passionate about science communication to the public and research mentorship.    If you would like to learn more about Dr. Nosal and his work, visit his website by clicking here.
