Stephanie Gorczyca (Biophysics '16) Has Been Named a 2014 Beckman Scholar

Beckman Scholarships are awarded to two outstanding USD students who are majoring in biology, biochemistry, biophysics or chemistry, and who have a strong commitment to research. The prestigious Beckman Scholars Program provides the students with rigorous research training, intensive faculty mentoring and peer support, and a distinctive enrichment program that develops the skills they need to become leaders in science.
Stephanie Gorczyca will receive $21,000 in stipend and travel funds to conduct research for two summers and a full academic year. Stephanie will use her Beckman funds to continue her research on DNA diffusion in Dr. Rae Anderson's laboratory in the Department of Physics.
