Excellent Job Market In Science and Engineering in San Diego
Saturday, September 7, 2013
The August 2013 report by the National Science Foundation done by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics indicates that California and San Diego County in particular are among the leading regions for employment in Science and Enginnering. According to the report: "The two local areas with the largest S&E employment were in California—the areas in the vicinity of Santa Clara in Northern California and Los Angeles in Southern California (table 2). The areas around New York City, Houston, Denver, and San Diego had the next largest levels of S&E employment. Together, these six areas accounted for 13% of employed S&E workers across the United States." This should be great news for USD students contemplating careers in science, technology engineering, or mathematics (STEM fields).
A summary of the report may be found in the September 2 issue of the San Diego Union Tribune. The original report (NSF1330) is available from the NSF.
