Kendall transferred to USD her sophomore year from Southern Methodist University. During the summer of 2008, she went on a missionary trip to Malawi, Africa. She explains "....it was there that I realized my calling to be an elementary teacher. I worked with Malawian children every day and my heart was completely changed. After seeing the lack of educational opportunity elsewhere in the world, I would love to teach abroad at some point in my life to help this problem. Along with that, I would love to teach children anywhere from fourth to eight grade! Teaching is by far the most rewarding thing I have ever done and I look forward to dedicating my life to doing exactly that!"
The Mortar Board, a national honor society for college seniors, recognizes its elected members each year for their scholastic achievement, outstanding leadership, and dedicated service to the university and community.
