THRS Majors Receive Honors, Including Valedictorian!

Congratulations to graduating senior Daniel Hernandez, who delivered a spectacular valedictory address at the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences on May 29. 2012. Actually, Daniel was not only named valedictorian. The double THRS/Spanish major was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the prestigious national honor society, as well as being honored at the recent Honors Convocation with the "Excellence in Spanish," "Outstanding Achievement in Ancient Greek," and "2012 Student Servant (University Ministry)" awards.
Other Class of 2012 THRS majors honored were Lauren Cooper, who was likewise elected to Phi Beta Kappa and who also received the "Excellence in Spanish" and "Outstanding Work in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies" awards, and Michael Omlin, who was honored with the "Outstanding Achievement in Latin" award. In addition, THRS major Joshua Wheeler was among those given the "4.0 GPA in Their Classes" award.
