The Goldwater Scholarship Tradition Continues

William Tressel, Mathematics Major, received Honorable Mention for the 2012 Goldwater Scholarship. William's career goals are to become an educator and earn a PhD in Statistics. William wants to apply statistics for the protection of the environment and advancement of impoverished communities.
Our previous Goldwater Scholarship recipients were:
Darren R. Davis '08, Computer Science major and 2007 Goldwater Scholar
Current Occupation: PhD student in Computer Science at UC Irvine, 2008-present.
Justin T. Webster '08, Mathematics major and 2007 Goldwater Scholar
Current Occupation: PhD student in Mathematics at University of Virginia, expected graduation date 2012.
Nancy Rodriguez '06, Mathematics major with Applied Emphasis and 2003 Goldwater Scholar
Current Occupation: National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University, PhD in Applied Mathematics from UCLA in 2011.
The Goldwater Foundation is a federally endowed agency established on November 14, 1986. The Scholarship Program honoring Senator Barry M. Goldwater was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering.
