UT San Diego -- You'll have to go a little bit out of your way to find the Hoehn Print Study Room and its accompanying galleries at the University of San Diego. But once there, you’ll discover a quiet place where you can enter a different world, a world unique in the region.
“What we’re doing is we’re trying to create a special little home for the study and display of prints,” said Victoria Lobis, the curator of USD’s print collection. “In doing that, we are making a commitment that distinguishes us from most institutions in Southern California who may have the display of prints as part of a larger mission.”
With a core collection of roughly 1,000 pieces and the recent acquisition of an important print reference library, the room is unique in San Diego County and “on par,” according to Lobis, with similar spaces at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Huntington Library. (Full Story)
