Batnitzky Nixes 'Quick-Fix' Solutions for Obese Children

Adina Batnitzky, PhD, assistant professor of sociology at the University of San Diego, gave her views about how to help in the campaign against childhood obesity in a July 14, 2011 article in the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Quoting Batnitzky: "Michelle Obama’s campaign against childhood obesity has called upon parents to pay attention to their children’s body mass index, or BMI, at annual pediatric checkups. But this initiative is incomplete and potentially dangerous.
