Computer Science Students Place Second in Data Mining Cup

We are very proud to announce that John Lopez and Cameron Askew's team “Uni_San Diego_1” placed second in the Data Mining Cup 2011. The final winners of the competition were announced on June 20 at the conference in Leipzig, Germany, which Lopez and Askew were invited to attend.
Lopez and Askew are both computer science majors. They took the CS 494 Data Mining course in this past spring with Dr. Eric Jiang and participated in the competition as part of their final course project.
Congratulations to John, Cameron, and Dr. Jiang, for such a great achievement.
