Roger Pace Appointed Director of Prestigious Honors Program

Roger Pace has been appointed director of the prestigious Honors Program at the University of San Diego. The Honors Program is designed for students to move beyond their discipline specific major by offering a wide variety of opportunities to engage with the liberal arts tradition of USD. The honors director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including recruiting and admitting students, collaborating with faculty who teach in the program, as well as teaching honors seminars and preceptorials.
Pace came to USD in 1987 and is a professor of Communication Studies. Throughout his career, he has had ample experience to prepare him to take on the role of director. He has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills as associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, chair of the Communication Studies Department, and chair of the Senate. He has participated in the Honors Program by offering classes and advising honors theses.
Pace will continue the momentum of previous directors that have established the strong reputation of the program. He is eager to implement new ideas and strengthen the sense of community among honors students.
