Jack Lindquist Invited as Holocaust Speaker
Monday, May 9, 2011
On May 1, 2011, THRS adjunct professor, Pastor Jack Lindquist participated as an invited speaker in the Holocaust Remembrance Day event held at the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla. He gave a talk about the churches’ (Lutheran and Catholic) complicity in the Holocaust.
In the program for the event, titled “Remember, Honor and Teach,” Pastor Lindquist is quoted as saying: “It is horrifying for Lutheran and Catholic Christians to come to terms with the complicity of their churches in the rise of Hitler and thus of the Holocaust, and to understand what lured their German leaders toward Nazism, but it must be done if there is to be genuine repentance, spiritual renewal and true reconciliation with the Jewish people.”
Pastor Lindquist’s most popular course at USD is THRS 390 “The Holocaust: Death of God or Death of Humanity?”
