Taiwan’s Department of Education has a program right now where they are trying to spread awareness of their culture by bringing people in with several different grants and stipends. After graduation I am going to Taipei, Taiwan to teach English to little kids for this grant I applied for. I’ll spend a few hours every day teaching English to kindergartners through third graders. It’s great because they want people with no Chinese experience—so really I’ll be earning my grant just by playing with a bunch of children who don’t understand me. In the mornings I’ll be going to a Mandarin language school. My plan is to stay in Asia for a few years until I am reasonably fluent; then come back to law school and try to get some kind of degree with an international focus.
