Welcome Lorendana Di Martino

Loredana Di Martino joins our faculty this fall to serve as director of Italian and to teach Italian language, culture and literature courses. Previously, she held positions at Georgetown University and at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary Italian literature, in particular on modernist and postmodernist fiction and theory, and on contemporary forms of realist literature. She has also worked on language pedagogy and teaching with technology.
Di Martino earned her doctorate from the University of Washington. She holds a Dottorato de Ricerca in linguistics and literature from Scuola Europea di Studi Avanzata as well as an MA in Italian studies from the University of Washington.
