About the Hayes Science Scholarship
June 2003 marked the grand opening of the Donald P. Shiley Center for Science and Technology and the retirement of Alice B. Hayes, Ph.D., as president of the university. As part of the opening of the Shiley Center, a scholarship fund in honor of Hayes was established in support of sophomore and junior level students who display merit (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25) and who are majoring in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry, Marine Science, Environmental Studies, or Physics.
