Environmental Geochemist Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position

The University of San Diego (USD) department of Marine Science and Environmental Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in the fall of 2010. The university is looking for an environmental geochemist with experience and interests that complement existing strengths within the department. Expected teaching responsibilities consist of lower division courses in earth science and upper division courses in environmental geology and/or aquatic geochemistry. Additional teaching responsibilities may include upper division courses in oceanography, hydrology, coastal processes and a course in the applicant's area of interest. USD is an independent Catholic university whose primary aim is teaching excelence. Active scholarship is integral to this aim, and faculty are expected to establish research programs that can involve undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) students.
