Phi Alpha Theta Field Trip to Museum of San Diego History
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
Phi Alpha Theta, the History Honors Society, held its first event of the academic year on the morning of Saturday, November 7: a field trip to the San Diego Historical Society's Museum of San Diego History along the Prado in beautiful Balboa Park. Co-presidents Ashley Beauchemin and Tori Patton organized the event, which was also sponsored with funding from Associated Students. History majors and minors, along with faculty advisor Tom Barton, were in attendance and enjoyed the historical exhibits as well as the contemporary installations, such as a special exhibit on San Diego's Somali community.
Phi Alpha Theta has numerous other events open to the wider campus community in the works for this academic year, including film screenings and possibly a visit to the USS Midway Museum. Membership in the society is not required to participate, but undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in joining should feel free to contact Tori (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Ashley (email@example.com) for more information.
