Engstrand Speaks on USD 60th Anniversary, Publishes Work

Iris Engstrand, Ph.D., recently appeared on local television channels 4SD and KFMB discussing the history of USD as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.  Engstrand also appeared on the KPBS production San Diego’s DNA in June interviewing San Diego World War II  veterans about their experiences during the war and after.  
Engstrand has also published an article entitled “Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo and the Building of the San Salvador,” co-authored with Harry E. Kelsey in Mains’l Haul: a Journal of Pacific Maritime History, 45 (Winter/Spring 2009):36-51, and a book chapter in Madrid on “Las Plantas Medicinales en la Real Expedición Botanica a Nueva España,” edited by Luisa Martin Merás in Navigare Necesse Est: Estudios de Historia Maritima en honor de Lola Higueras, Madrid, 2008.
