Study Abroad at St. Clare's International College, Oxford
Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Applications are now open for the spring semester program at St. Clare’s International College, Oxford. This year is a bit special, because Ken Keith, Ph.D., psychology professor and Honors Committee member, will be teaching at St. Clare’s in the spring. The program should be of special interest to Honors students, not only for the outstanding St. Clare’s experience, but also because St. Clare’s offers outstanding students opportunity to apply for the St. Clare’s-Blackfriars Hall Scholars’ Programme. Blackfriars is a Hall of Oxford University, offering one-to-one tutorials and Oxford University visiting student status—a great thing to have on your resumé.
St. Clare’s also offers placements in local schools for education students, and a new selection of business courses, beginning this fall. Honors students receive extra credit for study abroad, and our cooperative arrangement with St. Clare’s makes transfer of coursework as easy as possible. And Oxford, the “city of spires,” is one of the oldest and most beautiful university cities in the world.
In addition to teaching psychology courses, Keith will be available at St. Clare’s to assist USD students with advising or other issues during the spring term. For more information, contact the International Office (Serra 315) or Ken Keith (Serra 158). The application deadline is October 15.
Please note that for a full time semester abroad, four units of Honors will be waived.
