Catholic Press Association Honors Faculty Books

Two books from faculty of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies were honored by the Catholic Press Association in its 2008 Press Awards.
An Introductory Dictionary of Theology and Religious Studies, by Orlando Espín, Ph.D., (Liturgical Press, 2007) won first place in the reference book category. Co-edited by Espín and James B. Nickoloff (College of the Holy Cross), the book featured substantial contributions from many faculty in the department, including Professors Colombo, deLaurentis, Dugan, Fuller, Gillman, Kirkley, Krouse, Lindquist, Nelson, Pachence, Plovanich, Thomas, and Tsomo. The CPA judges praised the book as a "most valuable reference for student and teacher alike."
Feminist Intercultural Theology by Maria Pilar Aquino, Ph.D. (Orbis, 2007), co-edited with Maria Rosado Nunes, was given an honorable mention in the gender issues category.
