Ethnic Studies Students Dedicate
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
Ethnic Studies and Sociology students dedicated the native plants garden as the “Kumeyaay Garden” as part of a class project for "American Indian Health and Spirituality" class project with Michelle Jacob, Ph.D. In an effort to heal the wounds of colonialism, students created signs that recognize the first peoples of the land on which USD is built. Students worked with Associated Students Vice-President Christy Garcia, and presented the signs at the Native American Student Organization First Annual Graduate Recognition Ceremony on May 4, 2008.
