Eric Richards '19 MSRE Awarded California Homebuilding Foundation Scholarship

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

In May, Eric Richards ’19 MSRE was awarded  the California Homebuilding Foundation (CHF) Ernest W. Hahn Scholarship. This is just one of many scholarships which University of San Diego School of Business real estate students are encouraged to apply for through the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s external scholarship process. In addition to winning $5,000, Eric got to attend the CHF Hall of Fame Gala on Tuesday, June 26 in San Francisco.

“I am so honored to be recognized by the California Homebuilding Association as one of the 2018 scholarship award winners,” says Eric, who will graduate from the Master of Science in Real Estate program at University of San Diego School of Business in 2019. “This recognition aligns with my past career experiences and aspirations to learn to develop creative, green energy efficient, affordable housing options for the California housing crisis through learning how to assemble and syndicate residential and mixed-use infill parcels of land and the development deals upon the land. The CHF gala event was one of the most impressive I have experienced in the real estate industry.”

The Homebuilding Hall of Fame is an annual awards gala presented by the California Homebuilding Foundation. CHF’s mission is to preserve and honor excellence within the building industry by honoring legendary homebuilding professionals who positively impact others through their leadership and exemplary careers. Inductees are selected based on career success, reputation, philanthropy, and their involvement in the industry and community.

Three Burnham-Moores Center’s Policy Advisory Board members Stephen Doyle,  Ian Gil and James Previti have all previously been inducted into California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame.
