The RICS School of Built Environment, Amity University in India and the University of San Diego School of Business are now partners in developing academic and cultural interchange in the areas of education, research and other activities. A memorandum of understanding between the two universities signed on December 8, 2016, formalizes a five-week International Certificate in Real Estate Investment and Management starting June 2017.

The certificate was the brainchild of Vivek Sah, associate professor of real estate in the USD School of Business, who visited RICS-SBE in October to meet with interested students and to screen potential opportunities of collaboration.

The program, coordinated through the Ahlers Center for International Business and the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate, both centers of excellence within the USD School of Business, will provide groups of RICS-SBE students the opportunity to study in San Diego, visit regional companies and partake in cross-cultural activities to help improve business practices for all participants.

“The expansion of partnerships with RICS-SBE will now make this very attractive real estate certificate available to more students in India and contributes to the School of Business’s portfolio of international programs,” says Associate Provost for International Affairs and Director of the Ahlers Center Denise Dimon.

Eighteen students have already registered for the new certificate program, to be held Summer 2017.
