Choral Scholars Scholarship *

Amount: $8,500 per year for four years
Number of new openings per year: approximately 4

Music Endowment Scholarship *
This scholarship is offered to a music major who shows outstanding promise and demonstrates a desire to contribute to the USD music program in a significant way.

Award amount: $2000 (first year), $3000 (second year), $4000 (third and fourth years)
Number of new scholarships awarded per year: 1-4
Application deadline: Friday, February 29, 2008
Application requirements:
1. Letter of application
2. Two letters of recommendation, one from a music professional
3. High School or Higher Education transcript
4. Tape or live audition (two contrasting selections)
These materials should be sent directly to the Music Program (contact information) separately from all materials sent to USD for application for admission to the University.

Anne Catherine Swanke Memorial Scholarship **
This scholarship is awarded to a deserving music major who gives evidence by recitals and performances that they intend to pursue a career in music as a performer.

Amount: $1000
Number of scholarships awarded per year: 1-2

Sister Aimee Rossi, RSCJ, Music Scholarship **
This scholarship is awarded to a dedicated music major who contributes significantly to the music program.

Amount: $500
Number of scholarships awarded per year: 1

USD Symphony Scholarship **
This scholarship is awarded to one or more students who contribute significantly to the USD Symphony and demonstrate dedication to orchestral performance.

Amount: equal to one semester of individual lessons
Number of scholarships awarded per year: variable

* Entering freshmen and transfer students are eligible for this scholarship.

** Scholarship recipients are normally chosen from currently enrolled students who have demonstrated talent and ability in the music program.
