Getting to Campus

The University of San Diego is just a 15-minute drive from San Diego International Airport (SAN).
A taxi from the airport costs approximately $25 one way.  Cloud 9 Shuttle offers a discounted rate for passengers traveling to USD using promotional code FK8GK.  Note: if you reserve on-line, select "Hotel/Landmark" and enter "USD" in the search bar. When the USD options pop up, select MAHER HALL. The shuttle will bring you right to the building where we are living and working! Arriving/Departing

We have designed the CMLI schedule to allow participants to arrive on Tuesday, June 4 and depart on Sunday, June 9, avoiding the need to book additional nights to accommodate travel. On Tuesday, registration will take place from 3-5 p.m. and is followed by Evening Prayer at 5 p.m., Dinner at 5:45, and our formal Welcome at 6:45 p.m. On Sunday, participants may depart at any time; the CMLI program concludes with our banquet and talent show on Saturday evening. 

Extra Nights

For some teams, CMLI may be a rare opportunity to visit the beautiful San Diego area. A visit to the US side of the Mexico border will be part of our shared experience; however, there is limited time for sightseeing during the Institute: just one free night with dinner on your own. If you wish to arrive a day early or stay a day late, you can make arrangements on your registration form for $35 per participant per night. Please know that the host team will have limited availability to assist you before or after the Institute, especially with respect to food and transportation.

Accommodations & Facilities

Although the USD campus is quite large, the CMLI activities will be concentrated in several adjacent buildings:

  • Maher Hall:  registration, housing and presentations
  • University Center:  meals and work sessions
  • Founders Chapel:  prayer and liturgies
  • The Immaculata:  Daily Mass
