Why Support the Military & Veterans Program?

San Diego is known as one of the largest military cities in the nation with thousands of active duty service members, reservists, veterans, and their families pursuing higher education in the area. The University of San Diego is recognized as the go to university for the military population. This is reflected in the 15% increase of the military-connected population of the past two academic years. This population is continuing to grow and make an influence at USD.

We Have a Vision for the Future.

The University of San Diego Military and Veterans program is committed to being the ideal destination for our military-connected students (veterans, active duty, reserve, national guard, spouses, and children). We aspire to support our students throughout their entire journey from pre-admission to graduation and a career. In addition, we aim to be the premier research institution for military related projects and interests. Our program will diligently work with our students’ financial needs and relentlessly strive for graduating debt-free military-connected students. The overarching intention of our program is to equip our students with the skills requisite for their success in a variety of roles across different industries both in the U.S. and internationally.

USD is Committed to Our Military.

Not only has our military-connected population grown, but the programming at the university has increased substantially so that we now have programs from initial consideration all the way to alumni status. We have various student groups and regular events throughout the school year that focus on our military-connected population. In 2017, the USD Founders Gala is paying special tribute to our men and women in military service. Proceeds from the 2017 Founders Gala will establish a new, endowed scholarship fund dedicated to veterans.
