Rules and Guidelines

General

  • All facility users must present a valid USD ID
  • Profanity and/or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated
  • Report any injuries or broken equipment to staff immediately
  • All equipment must remain in the fitness center

Attire

  • Athletic apparel/shoes are required
  • NO khakis or jeans
  • NO sports bras or half-shirts that reveal the stomach area
  • NO flip-flops, sandals or open-toed shoes
  • Fitness center staff reserve the right to determine appropriate attire

Dumbbell and Free Weight Area

  • Return dumbbells to respective racks
  • Wipe down benches after use
  • Remove weights from bars and return to the weight trees
  • Use Olympic collars whenever weight on bar(s)
  • Use weight you can safely lift and lower
  • Use of chalk prohibitted
  • Never slam weight stacks or drop dumbbells on the floor

Cardio Equipment

  • 45-minute limit during peak hours
  • Wipe down display and handles after usage

Personal Items & Cleanliness

  • Store personal items in cubbies
  • MFC staff is not responsible for lost/stolen items
  • Please clean up after yourself and wipe equipment after use with provided cleaning supplies
  • No food is permitted at any time; a water bottle with a lid is allowed
  • Personal towels are not provided
  • Filming, photographing, or otherwise inhibiting other patrons' fitness activities through the use of iPods, video tape recorders, cameras, and/or CELL PHONES is prohibited inside the MFC.

All-inclusive: The aforementioned rules are not intended to cover all instances. Other rules may be posted in the facility or online at http://www.sandiego.edu/mfc/about and shall be considered binding to all participants. Campus Recreation reserves the right to change or amend these policies as deemed necessary for the safety and functionality of the facility, program or activity.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF CAMPUS RECREATION PRIVLEGES.

Guest Policy

  • USD community members with an active USD ID may bring a guest for up to one week (7 consecutive days from initial visit)
  • Guests must be at least 18 years of age
  • Each guest must sign our Release of Liability at initial visit and present a photo ID each visit
  • USD sponsor must accompany his/her guest at all times
  • Up to two guests permitted per semester
  • All guests must adhere to the rules and guidelines listed above
