American Indian Recruitment
Students will meet weekly to participate in mentoring high school students with a Native American background from throughout San Diego.

Barrio Logan College Institute
Tutor students transitioning into English from Spanish.

Bayside Community Center
USD students will volunteer at an after school program with elementary school children at Bayside Kids.

Border Angels
Critical life-saving stations are established throughout the San Diego Mountain areas. Winter clothing, food and water are placed in winter storage bins to help decrease negative health results from being exposed to the incredibly freezing temperature changes that exists in the San Diego County mountain areas during the Fall and Winter.

Carson Elementary
USD students will tutor beginning ESL learners during the school day.

Casa Del Migrante and Centro Comunitario Teresa (Tijuana)
Students will visit and learn from the staff at these sites.  Special projects can be created with the sites (e.g. painting, refurbishing a home.)

Casa San Juan
USD Students will provide activities for the women in the center and their children.

Chesterton Elementary
USD students will participate in reading aloud and discussing children’s literature with elementary school children.

Dorcas House (Tijuana)
Students will play with children from this foster care home for children of incarcerated parents.

Door of Hope
Students will interview women and create and present a play based on their experiences.

Familias Indigenas Unidas
Students will meet with Mixteco families from Linda Vista and will work on improving English and Spanish writing and speaking skills.  Students will participate in hands-on workshops on Mixtec culture.

French Cottage
USD students can prepare to read to children or create art projects.

Holy Family School
USD students will assist Holy Family teachers in an elementary school classroom.

International Rescue Committee
Students will tutor Somali youth in after-school program.

Juvenile Hall
The USD student Juvenile Hall team leaders will organize the weekly literacy activity. A group of 12 USD students will be assigned to each unit.

Kearny High School
Students will tutor high school students one-on-one in particular subjects.

Kearny Mesa Convalescent Hospital
Students can assist with many scheduled activities.

Keillor Middle School
USD students will provide tutoring.

La Morita (Tijuana)
USD students will work with community on projects designed by the Casa San Eusebio.

League of Women Voters
Working in small groups, USD students will create voter registration presentations for local high schools and the community.
Linda Vista Elementary
USD students will tutor beginning ESL learners during the school day.

Linda Vista Elementary After-School
Students will read Spanish books to bilingual students.

Linda Vista Teen Center
Students will support and develop programming for at-risk youth in the Linda Vista community.

Linda Vista Multicultural Fair
Annual fair in Linda Vista for which USD students do marketing, volunteer, and participate in the parade.

Lindsay Summit Even Start Program
USD students will assist and encourage teen parents and care for their small children.

Mesa College TRACE Program
Students will work bi-weekly with developmentally disabled youth.

Migrant Outreach
Students will be able to practice Spanish while encouraging migrants to practice English. After some initial time for visiting and English practice or health care, a mass in Spanish will be held, followed by lunch.

Mixtec Bilingual School (Tijuana)
Students will work on projects designed in conjunction with the school staff.

Monarch High School
USD students will have the opportunity to assist teachers in a classroom or work with the Homework Club offering Monarch students assistance with homework assignments and specific learning goals.

Montgomery Garden Project
USD students will work in the garden alongside 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, some of whom are developmentally delayed students.

Montgomery Middle School
USD students will tutor beginning ESL learners during the school day and/or work in the Homework club after school.

Pro Kids Golf
USD students will serve in the Pro Kids Learning Center as tutors to assist the Pro Kids members with homework assignments and other projects.

Rachel's Women's Center
Students will work with the women on crafts or projects, manage the boutique, serve lunch, and assist at the front desk. Some women serving as staff have been homeless themselves and can serve as a resource to you for understanding.

San Diego Center for Children
USD students will assist with Halloween Carnival. Students will work in groups to create programs/activities to present to the children at the center.

San Diego Cooperative Charter School
Students will work with second grade classrooms on a joint project.

San Diego High School
USD students will tutor beginning ESL or work with the art department at CIMA on special projects including a USD visit.

San Diego Organizing Project
Students will work with SDOP on the “Year of our Youth” campaign.

Sherman Heights Community Center
USD Students will tutor school children. Students will have an opportunity to participate in family night events.

Sierra Club
Opportunities include work with the Canyon Campaign, research, and helping support events.

Southern Sudanese Community Center
USD students will work within the after-school program with tutoring, computers, and recreational activities.

St. Vincent de Paul
Students will help prepare and serve food.

Tariq Khamisa Foundation
Using TKF’s “Circle of Peace” program, USD students will work with students at the Montgomery Middle School Family Success Center.

Tecolote Nature Center
Students will help with planting native species and removing non-native plants.

Toussaint Teen Center
USD students will work with the school and create a book club to meet at the café.

Twain Jr/Sr High School
USD Students will have the opportunity to tutor Twain students one-on-one.

Universidad Iberoamericana Community Center (Tijuana)
USD students will assist with projects designed in conjunction with staff.

Urban Corps San Diego
Students will be tutoring and mentoring in a classroom setting.
