2.3.3 Immunizations and Screening Tests
The University of San Diego requires certain immunizations and health screening tests for specified categories of students and for some employment positions, after consideration of the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For more information about immunizations and screening tests required for students, please contact the Student Health Center. For more information about immunizations and screening tests required for employees, please contact Human Resources. Failure to obtain the required immunizations or screening tests may result in ineligibility for enrollment in classes, living in the residence halls, or employment at the university.
The university will grant a waiver of the immunization or health screening test requirements upon receipt of a letter from the individual (or his or her parent if the individual is under age 18) that the immunization or screening test is contrary to the individual’s religious beliefs. The university also will grant a waiver of the immunization or screening test requirements upon receipt of a statement from a licensed health care provider that the immunization or screening test is contraindicated for medical reasons.
