For all students:
Once you have signed up and you decide to DROP a class before you leave for your selected program, you must notify, via e-mail only to Ms Cindy King, cking@sandiego.edu. All charges/credits will be discussed with you once Ms King has been notified of this drop.
Once you have signed up and you decide to ADD another class before you leave for your selected program, you must notify, via e-mail only to Ms Cindy King, cking@sandiego.edu. All charges/credits will be discussed with you once Ms King has been notified of this addition.
For Thomas Cooley or Indiana University students - you must receive permission from Dean Bill Weiner or Dean Len Fromm before you can drop a class. They would then notify our office.
OR
If you are AT your selected program and you decide to add/drop a class then you must notify, the program Director, your program Administrative Assistant and either Ms Cindy King or Ms Darlene Smith before you change, in case there are no more class materials available. Thomas Cooley and Indiana University-Bloomington students, must obtain approval of any changes from Dean Bill Weiner or Dean Len Fromm before they change. If the materials are not on site and USD-San Diego has to Fed Ex them to you, you will need to decide if you want to pay these charges or not. The same goes for the photocopying charges. If you wish to continue with the change, you would then pay any and all amounts due via credit card or e-check only through USD's e-pay system. Remember, USD does not accept Visa credit cards for any payments. You do not pay any monies on site for any of your changes. See your first set of information sheets that you received with your Acceptance Letter for this payment link information or contact Ms King for this information. This will ensure that you have your proper class materials before starting your new class and to alert the teaching professor of a new student taking their class.
Also, if you drop a law or language class while staying at your selected program, there is no refund of any monies paid and you may have to refund any monies taken out on loans. You cannot take loans out for only 2 credits. Some schools will let you take out loans for 3+ credits and some schools state you must take 6 or more credits to get loans. Please double check with your school about this. There is no refund of any monies paid for Clinics or Tutorials if you withdraw after April 13th.
Should you wish to change or add a law class on or after April 1, the cost is:.........................$50.00 each time plus the cost of any shipping and/or photocopying charges to add/change a class(es).
If USD-San Diego needs to Federal Express any class materials to you at your site, then you the student, would pay for this charge ($80-$200+ books are heavy!). If you wish to add a language class, the cost is $85 or $150 for the Legal Russian class.
If notification of a withdrawal of a law class or Clinic, but you still stay in the program, is received in San Diego starting at the 2nd week of your program(s), then you will receive a "W" on your transcript for "withdraw" and you would not be able to get it removed later on.
U.S. students Wait List Info:
Barcelona and Florence are our hottest programs and they do fill up fast. When that happens, there is usually a Wait List.
To be put on a Wait List, you would apply through our web site and make all necessary scheduled payments via U.S. dollar personal check or U.S. dollar money order only. This will keep you on the Wait List. However, when you are on the Wait List, none of these checks will be cashed until we have contacted you and you agree to come off the Wait List.
Once you are off the Wait List and are accepted into the Barcelona, Florence or any other programs, those payments will then be cashed to enroll you. This Wait List is for the current year only and not for future years. Please discuss any Wait List questions for the current year with Ms Cindy King, cking@sandiego.edu
Foreign students Wait List Info:
This same procedure above applies to non-U.S. students except you may also pay via Wire Transfer.
