Dublin Computer and E-Mail Information

Students will NOT be allow to use or bring computers into their exam. No computers will be allowed for the writing of examinations, all exams are handwritten.

Computer Facilities At Trinity College

Only USD enrolled program students and faculty living at Trinity College have access to Trinity College computers. (per Trinity College) Please read the following that was provided to us by Trinity College: "Trinity College Information Systems Support for Study Abroad Programs".( This information may change at any time per Trinity College. )

If you are interested in bringing a computer, please read "Getting Online in Europe". There is no requirement that your class work be typed. No machine with a memory can be used in the exams. You must obtain your class professor's approval prior to bringing a computer into a class to use.

There are 3 Web Sites for Cybercafe's in Dublin near Trinity College if you wish to set up an e-mail account for the time you are there and not living on campus. They are:

The Planet Cyber Cafe, , 23 South Great George's St. Phone 353-1-679-0583, fax 353-1-677-1463; e-mail: info@irelands-web.ie Hours: 10am-10pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Sun; and 10am-midnight on Thur, Fri and Sat. This is on the same street as the American Launderette (see Dublin Tips - General, under laundry for directions Dublin Tips - previous student's - General).

The Internet Exchange Cafe , 3 Lower Stephens St. e-mail: Karl Hearne (walk towards the end of Grafton St then turn right and keep walking, it's not an easy place to find. They are near the Break from the Border Club.) Hours: Mon - Sat 10am - 10pm, Sun 11am - 8pm. Costs: $15 per month for Complimentary tea and coffee, Free e-mail account, Invites to Members Only Events, and Internet access for $3 for 30 minutes.

Global Cafe , 8 Lower O'Connell St, phone 353-1-878-0295. Open Mon - Fri 8am - 11pm, Sat 9am - 11pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 10pm.
