    International Environmental Law--------------------------------Mr Roger Findley

    Selected aspects of international environmental law, including regional treaty regimes in Europe and the Americas: basic principles of international environmental law and related human rights law; climate change; protection of international water resources, biological diversity, and indigenous peoples; relationship between international environmental law and international trade law.
    Exam: 8/1 (3 cr.) MTWThF 8:30 am - 10:05 am

    International Human Rights----------------------------------------Mr Jim Nafziger

    Selected aspects of the int'l protection of human rights, during normal times (with emphasis on the European system) as well as in times of crisis such as the "War on Terror" and mass atrocities. Topics will include current human rights issues such as fair trials, freedom of expression and the derogation exception, the death penalty, torture, unlawful detention, prisoners of war, international tribunals, and genocide, as well as criminal and civil remedies for redress.
    Exam: 8/1 (3 cr.) MTWThF 10:15 am - 11:50 am

    Comparative Civil Rights---------------------------------------------Mr Neville Cox

    A comparative study of civil rights and liberties in Ireland, the UK and the U.S. other than those related to criminal procedure, including freedom of speech, accommodation of religious differences, privacy, and discrimination.
    Exam: 8/2 (3 cr.) MTWThF 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

    The Long Room of the Library (1712) at Trinity College Dublin, with its magnificent barrel vaulting (1860), is the longest library in Europe, and houses the Gospel Book of Kells and Brian Boru's Irish harp.
