Winter Palace in St Petersburg**

Students will NOT be allowed to use or bring computers into their exam. No computers will be allowed for the writing of examinations, all exams are handwritten.

Computer Facilities

There are NO computers, printing, copying or e-mail services/facilities available for your use at the Pericles Training Center, where classes are held.

If you want to bring your computer, please read "Getting Online in Europe".

There is no requirement that your class work be typed. You also must obtain your class professor's approval to bring a computer into class to use.

No machine with a memory can be used in the exams. All exams are handwritten, no exceptions.

But if you wish to bring your computer for other work, please read this checklist of things to check out before you leave. Checklist for your computer

In past years most students brought their own computer and printers. But that is entirely up to each student to decide whether to bring or not to bring!

You also might wish to check out this site Moscow's Internet and WI-FI Cafe's for listings of more Internet/WI-FI sites (over 30 places listed - even at the Hard Rock Cafe or TGI Friday's, and La Gateau (which are down the street from Tverskaya Ulitsa #10), etc.) You should print off this list to bring with you.

E-Mail Access

Students should always consider having a separate e-mail account when they are in Europe. This avoids filling up your regular e-mail box with junk mail from Europe.

A warning about E-Mails - Telephone lines in Russia are very poor, 28K baud may be about the maximum rate you will consistently get. If you get to many disconnected calls, try slowing down your modem.
