Paris Program Information

Program Dates

July 1 – August 3, 2013

Orientation

Please plan to attend the orientation on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the University of Paris Centre Malher.  Classes begin Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 9 a.m.  In early June, you will be sent course information that will allow you to prepare prior to your arrival in Paris.

Location

The Paris program is co-sponsored by ESSEC (École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales), the law faculty at the University of Paris I and the Institut Catholique de Paris.  Classrooms and offices are in the University of Paris Centre Malher, located in the Marais at 9 rue Malher, 4e.  Notre Dame and the Palais de Justice are within walking distance.

Educational Program Activities

Exclusive educational tours for students include visiting the Palais de Justice, the Conseil d'Etat and the French Senate.  We will also host presentations by local practitioners, professors and legal officers of international organizations. 

Optional Language Activities

Participants of the Paris program have the option of taking a French language class.  This class is not required as part of the program.  Please note there is an additional charge of $75 for the class, and no academic credit will be awarded.

  • Beginning Conversational “Survival” French

Advanced French classes are available through the Alliance Française, Institut Catholique, or the Sorbonne Cours de Civilisation Française.  For additional information about these options, please contact the schools directly.
